Bontle is a co-founder of Arnot OpCo. She began her career at Exxaro as a graduate in electrical engineering. She was introduced to the coal mining industry as a student as part of the Exxaro bursary programme, and upon completion of the programme, she registered as a professional engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa, as well as completed her Government Certificate of Competence for mines.
