Arnot Coal mine currently mines the No. 2 Seam Lower from one underground shaft using mechanised board and pillar mining method through a continuous miner (CM). Production commenced in 2022.

The mine is currently producing approximately 0.5 million tonnes of ROM coal and thermal coal product is delivered via conveyer belt to Arnot Power Station.

A second underground shaft with two additional CM sections, and two open-cuts will be commissioned during Q2-Q3 of 2023. The mine will produce 2.20 million tonnes of ROM coal per annum at steady state, from four mining operations.
